PRISONER ALLOWED TO VISIT DYING LOVER

THE Cape High Court has granted what may be the last wish of a man dying of Aids by allowing his lover, an inmate at Allandale Prison, to visit him at the Cape Town Medi-Clinic, etv news reported. Quinton Booysen, who is serving a 15-year sentence for fraud, had not seen his partner of 15 years, David Yates, since January. Prison officials earlier denied Booysen’s request, saying that the visits were restricted to family and that same sex relationships did not apply. “I am very happy to be with my precious, precious David. I am happy that the constitution is the supreme law of the country,” Booysen said. He said it was the best birthday present he could have given to Yates, who turns 55 on Tuesday.
