BAFANA Bafana will be without the services of skipper Lucas Radebe for their match against Malta in Valletta on May 28 as well as the Nike Cup to be played on June 11 at the Giants Stadium in New Jersey, USA.
Radebe will be unavailable for the matches after it was announced that he will undergo minor surgery to his leg at the end of the English season.
According to Radebe’s manager Glynn Binkin, the Leeds United skipper is consulting a doctor this week in order the finalise the operation. Binkin said that Radebe will have to rest for at least three weeks after the operation and that the procedure must be done before the vital Bafana Bafana World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe in July.
Meanwhile, Bafana goalkeeper Hans Vonk and wingback Bradley Carnell have also announced their unavailability for the trip to the US.
Carnell is caarying a groin strain and may need surgery, while Vonk has been excused after informing Safa that he is not available.
