SASOL, ENRON AGREE OVER PIPELINE

UNITED States energy company Enron and Sasol have reached an agreement on the transportation of Mozambique’s natural gas. Sasol said on Friday that the two firms have agreed to build a single pipeline rather than two, as previously envisaged. The pipeline will stretch from the reserves in Inhambane province, some 800km north of the capital Maputo, to Ressano Garcia. Enron and Sasol hold exploration rights over the Pande and Temane reserves, where there are enormous quantities of gas. Pande alone contains over 60-billion cubic metres of natural gas.
