A TWO-MONTH fuel shortage, the worst for 20 years, has eased in Central African Republic thanks to the arrival of shipments from the Democratic Republic of Congo and elsewhere. ”The arrival of 40,000 litres of oil products by tanker truck and the arrival of two cargo vessels from the Democratic Republic of the Congo will allow us to halt the crisis this country is going through,” Energy and Mines Minister Andre Latou said. The Bangui government accused Kinshasa of using 25,000 cubic metres of fuel being stored there but intended for export to the Central African Republic. – Reuters
