BUS CRUSHES BOY’S HEAD

AN 18-year-old matric pupil died in a bizarre accident in KwaZulu-Natal when he fell asleep under a school bus and it drove over his head. The pupil was on a school trip from Ntshisekelo High School in Inanda to the Newcastle Farmers’ Hall. KwaZulu-Natal road traffic inspectorate spokesman Vijen Murugan said the accident happened when the driver stopped to refuel and the children got off the bus. When the driver had finished refuelling he got back on the bus but failed to do a head count. One of the boys had apparently fallen asleep under the bus, and his skull was crushed as the bus pulled off. Police are investigating a culpable homicide charge against the unnamed bus driver. – African Eye News Service
