MADAGASCAR BANS ALL MEAT IMPORTS

MADAGASCAR said on Wednesday it had banned all imports of animals and meat products from around the world as a precaution against foot-and-mouth disease. ”All the imports of live animals or of meats of any sort are forbidden, so are the transformed meats and the dairy products,” the government said in a statement. Madagascar already has a ban in place on South African products following a foot-and-mouth outbreak in KwaZulu-Natal province last year. – Reuters
