BE THERE, OR ELSE

THE Swaziland government is planning to bus thousands of rural people to a meeting called by King Mswati III on Friday, in a bid to counter stayaway calls from pro-democracy groups. Swaziland Commercial Amadoda Road Transport (Scarta) confirmed on Thursday that it planned to transport people to the meeting using petrol supplied by the government. Mswati III has called on the entire Swazi nation to gather at the Ludzidzini Royal Cattle Byre outside the capital Mbabane, where he is expected to discuss a new constitution. – AFP
