SAA RESUMES FLIGHTS TO MAURITIUS

SOUTH African Airways resumed flights to Mauritius on Wednesday after Cyclone Dina caused the airline to stop all flights to and from the island on Monday. SAA representative Victor Nosi said in a statement on Tuesday a larger plane and an additional flight would be despatched to eliminate the backlog of passengers. Phillip Strijdom of the South African Weather Service said on Wednesday Cyclone Dina passed north of the island of Reunion on Tuesday night and would no longer affect the island. SAWS expects Cyclone Dina to affect the extreme South Eastern part of Madagascar late on Thursday. Strijdom said the cyclone is not expected to hit South Africa. – Sapa
