Two people were slightly injured when a Metrorail passenger train derailed after the driver apparently went through a danger signal without stopping at the Duncanville station near Vereeniging on Thursday morning. Metrorail representative Lilian Mofokeng said only the front motor coach of train 9031, travelling from Vereeniging heading for Johannesburg, derailed at about 6.45am. She said the two injured people were taken to the Vereeniging Hospital. ”At the moment we don’t know why the driver passed a signal at danger. We will investigate,” Mofokeng said. – Sapa
