Working in tandem with Newtown’s Market Photography Workshop and the official Create SA initiative, Yfm is on the drive to recruit 25 to 30 young photographers for a year-long course that will form part of an entrepreneurial development programme.
The on-air campaign to identify talented young photographers runs until December 8 and encourages aspirants to embark on a photo spree that will win them the prize of participating in the learnership. Entrants should submit contact details and four photographs that best depict what Yona ke Yona means to them at the Y-Shoppe at The Zone in Rosebank by December 8.
Competition entries submitted for the photography learnership will be judged and winners selected by a specialist reference group of professional South African photographers and photography trainers. Winners will be announced on Yfm and their photographs will be exhibited at the Y-Shoppe, in YMag and on www.yfm.co.za and www.createsa.org.za.
The selected winners will start their course work in February 2003. The learnership, developed by Create SA, to the Market Photography Workshop, will be registered on the National Qualifications Framework at level four.
