Wits University leapfrogged from the fifth to the fourth spot of the Castle Premiership table after thumping Manning Rangers 4-0 at the Bidvest Stadium on Sunday.
The Students, who are yet to taste defeat after five wins and five draws, have 20 points.
They share the same number of points with Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, who are placed second and third respectively.
AmaKhosi and the Mighty Buccaneers reign superior with their number of wins. They both boast six victories.
Chiefs have so far conceded two goals while Pirates, who humiliated Lamontville Golden Arrows 2-0 in front of their local fans in Durban also on Sunday, have conceded eight goals.
The Students still maintain a clean slate in that department.
Strikers Alois Bunjira and Gareth Devine scored a brace each. Devine registered his first as early as the first minute.
Bunjira added his name in the scorers list in he first minute of the second half.
The lightning-fast forward was back in the spotlight two minutes later when he confirmed his second, the third goal for his club, in
the 48th minute.
Devine was not done yet. The former national team under-23 striker netted his second five minutes later putting matters beyond Rangers’ reach in the 53rd minute.
Rangers reigned superior skilfully but failed to take advantage. The Mighty Maulers, who are languishing on the fourth sport from the bottom, have lost five games. — Sapa
