Silver Stars showed great character when they fought back from a 3-1 deficit to force a 3-3 draw with Black Leopards in a Castle Premiership match at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday.
Leopards’ coach David Byrne is understandably angry with his charges whose complacency after leading 3-1 as early as the 13th minute of the second half allowed Stars to come back.
Leopards led 2-1 at interval. Wonder Nhleko scored a brace in the 34th and 44th minutes respectively.
Manqoba Mkhize scored the first goal for Stars in the 43rd minute.
However substitute Kelvin Mushangazhike, who came on for John Ndou in the 54th minute, scored Leopards third goal in the 68th minute.
He headed home a Bongani Masangani square pass.
Dingaan Masanbo brought Stars back into the game when he netted the second goal in the 80th minute.
He was back in the spotlight six minutes later when he completed his brace — the third goal for Stars in the 86th minute to level matters at 3-3.
Nhlanhla Mathebula and Michael Khanyile were given marching orders by referee Walter Mchubela in the 63rd and 76th minutes respectively. – Sapa
