Pule’s back

Kaizer Chiefs on Monday announced that Bafana Bafana midfielder Jabu Pule will appear before the club’s disciplinary committee in Naturena, Johannesburg, on Friday for disappearing on the eve of a crucial match.

Pule disappeared on the eve of the Absa Cup match against Mamelodi Sundowns at Odi Stadium in Mabopane two weeks ago.

Chiefs won the game 3-1.

Chiefs suspended Pule, one of the players who represented South Africa at the African Nations Cup in Tunisia early this year, without pay for going absent without leave.

He is charged for disappearing on the eve of the Sundowns match, failing to attend the club’s training sessions and bringing Chiefs into disrepute.

According to Chiefs’ website, Pule reported at the club’s offices in Naturena on Monday morning but did not meet team manager Bobby Motaung, who is out of town.

He is scheduled to meet Motaung on Wednesday. — Sapa
