John Dludlu, the editor of the Sowetan newspaper, has resigned from the company, Johnnic Communications announced on Friday.
It said the resignation becomes effective immediately.
No other details were disclosed.
The news comes close on the heels of a recent announcement by the company that former Pretoria News and Sunday World editor Thabo Leshilo will take over as editor-in-chief of both the Sowetan and Sunday World newspapers and that Dludlu will be moved elsewhere in the group.
It said Leshilo has been appointed to address the Sowetan‘s falling circulation, readership and advertising, and to build the newspaper into “a major force in South African journalism”. — I-Net Bridge
