Silver Stars and Black Leopards played to a one-all draw in the Limpopo Castle Premiership derby at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Wednesday night.
It was the third draw for both sides after they also played to a one-all draw in the first round at the same venue last season and battled to a three-all stalemate in the second round played at Thohoyandou.
The match started at a blistering pace as both sides took the match to each other, hoping for an early goal, but it was the home side who looked the better bet to score.
It came as no surprise when the hosts, Silver Stars, opened the scoring in the 24th minute through former Sundowns player Ishmael Maluleke.
However, it took Leopards only three minutes to level the score through Mozambican defender Fernando Matola.
Both sides continued to exert pressure on one another but the score remained 1-1 until the final whistle. — Sapa
