Sex aid supplements found to contain Viagra

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Tuesday banned the import of two male sexual stimulant diet supplements sold on the internet, saying they contain an undeclared prescription drug ingredient.

The FDA warned consumers ”not to purchase or to consume Actra-Rx or Yilishen, two products promoted and offered for sale on websites as dietary supplements for treating erectile dysfunction and enhancing sexual performance for men.”

It said the products were found to contain prescription-strength quantities of sildenafil … the active drug ingredient in Viagra.”

The FDA said it had issued an ”import alert” instructing FDA field personnel to stop the importation of the two products. It did not say where they were manufactured. – Sapa-AFP
