Backless briefs invented for low-rider jeans

Backless panties that do not show above the rear of low-rider jeans have been invented by a woman in Australia, news reports said on Wednesday.

Jan Digney, originally from New Zealand, said she was ”blown away” by reaction to her scrap of an invention, which was featured on New Zealand television.

Digney told the New Zealand Herald that she invented the backless briefs in August after being frustrated at the impossibility of wearing low-rider jeans without underwear showing at the back.

She also learned that in to avoid the problem, her daughters often did not wear any underwear.

The cotton or lace briefs use adjustable straps that sit under the wearer’s bottom. They are more comfortable and practical than other briefs, Digney said.

”The good thing is they can’t ride up or down your bottom,” she said. ”Your crack isn’t exposed at any time.”

The briefs, which can be bought over the Internet, are already a big hit in Germany, she said.

Digney has applied for a patent for the design in 123 countries and is also developing a male version. – Sapa-DPA
