outh African Airways’ fuel levy for international flights is to increase from R155 to R186, the company said on Friday.
”We have decided to make these present changes to our international fuel levies in keeping with the global trend amongst major airlines,” SAA spokesman Onkgopotse JJ Tabane said in a statement.
”Since the introduction of fuel levies in May last year, the airline has had to increase as well as times decrease these levies due to the continued fluctuation of the oil price.”
The domestic fuel levy would remain steady at around R93 per domestic flight. This included flights to and from Hong Kong.
The levy for flights to and from Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe was now around R124 per flight. – Sapa
