A rollicking 85 off 58 deliveries by master blaster Justin Kemp saw the Titans to a five-wicket victory over the Dolphins in their Standard Bank Pro20 match at Willowmore Park on Sunday.
The Titans won the toss and sent the Dolphins in to bat. The visitors made 200 in their 20 overs, thanks largely to a second-wicket partnership of 87 between Kyle Smit and Shaun Pollock.
Smit made 68 off 62 balls, but Pollock needed just 28 deliveries for his 59 runs.
Kemp was the most successful of the Titans’ bowlers, taking two for 48, but Dale Steyn was the most miserly, conceding just 14 off his 14 overs.
The Titans had three balls in hand when they scored the winning runs, with Kemp leading the way, ably assisted by Albie Morkel (27) and Gerald Dros, who made 32.
Aahmed Amla took three of the five Titans wickets to fall, but Russell Symcox and Pollock were the bowlers who did most to try to stem the tide, with Symcox conceding 29 runs off his four overs, and Pollock 31. — Sapa
