Four-year-old girl raped and strangled in KwaZulu-Natal

The police are searching for a man who was seen with a little girl shortly before she was strangled in Sundimbili in northern KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday.

Police spokesperson Captain Jay Naicker said the four-year-old girl and her three-year-old brother were left with their grandmother on Saturday night. He said the grandmother went to a shop near her home in the Masomonco area on Sunday, and when she returned the little girl was missing.

”She only told the child’s mother the next day that her daughter was missing. They searched for the little girl and found her on Tuesday in dense bushes near her granny’s home,” said Naicker.

It appeared the child had been raped and strangled. Naicker said the child was apparently last seen with a man who was visiting his family in the area. – Sapa
