Local visitors to SA websites jump 13,8 percent

The Online Publishers Association (OPA), a grouping of 24 of South Africa’s most prominent online publishers, today revealed its readership figures for the third quarter of 2005. Indicating a 13,8 percent rise in local readership to 1,98-million readers (or unique browsers) the organisation announced that ‘the total combined readership for international and local readership on SA’s top websites soared to its highest level to date, attracting 5,39-million readers—and 128,15-million page impressions.”

The five top performing sites, in order, were Media24, with 2,16-million combined local and international readers, Independent Online (1,65-million), MWeb (667,108), Ananzi (467,391) and Mail & Guardian Online (445,365).
