Eight detained after Cape court shooting

Cape Town police arrested eight people after one man was killed and three injured in shooting outside the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Friday.

Police spokesperson Superintendent Debby Pheiffer said a group of men started shooting at each other in front of the court.

One man, in his 30s, died on the scene and three others were injured — one in the leg and one in the hand, while the third sustained various bullet wounds.

They were taken to a nearby hospital and were in a stable condition.

Six firearms were confiscated after the shooting.
