Dolphins desperate for taste of victory

The KwaZulu-Natal Dolphins are desperate after three successive Standard Bank Pro20 defeats and now need at least two wins out of three in their remaining round-robin fixtures in the competition.

Two of the matches are at home this week. On Wednesday night, they line-up against the Warriors in a postponed fixture at Kingsmead and follow this up on Friday with another home fixture at Kingsmead against the Eagles. Both matches begin at 6pm.

Then it is on to Potchefstroom for a third match against the Highveld Lions on Sunday in a day game beginning at 2pm.

They have named a squad of 13, including some exciting big hitters, in a bid to advance to the semifinals stage.

The team members are: Hashim Amla, Kyle Smit, Jon Kent, Robbie Frylink, Dale Benkenstein, Ahmed Amla, Lance Klusener (captain), Daryn Smit, Andrew Tweedie, Zahir Abrahim, Nantie Hayward, Yusuf Abdullah and Tyron Pillay.

Imraan Khan, who has lost his place after indifferent showings, is in the amateur team to play against Western Province in Cape Town in the South African Airways three-day (February 2 to 4) and one-day (February 5) Challenge Series competition. — Sapa
