Media24 has launched into Angola with a monthly Portuguese publication titled TV24.
It is a joint venture with MultiChoice and was officially launched in April.
‘The aim of the publication is to offer Angolans television listings in a language they understand and can read,” says editor Lino Fonseca.
He says the magazine has other extras such as news on celebrities, sports and entertainment.
The publishing house will also be producing a new weekly magazine, and has appointed Igna Schreiner as the editor.
Schreiner refused to comment on the new magazine saying she’ll only do so once it has been officially launched.
Media24 is also expanding its reach into the teenage market with the imminent launch of True Love Babe. This will complement Seventeen/Sewentien, owned by Media24 subsidiary 8ink Media.
The magazine, which will be edited by Seventeen‘s assistant editor Vuyokazi Matshikiza (23), will target the brand-savvy youth market.
It’s expected to hit the shelves in mid-August, selling at R15,95.
