Czech journo picks bad time to test airport security

Czech police detained a journalist who tried to test out airport security at a regional airport on Friday, police spokesperson Roman Pittner said.

“In the current situation we judge this as stupid,” Pittner said, referring to the foiled terrorist attempt to bomb aircraft leaving London’s Heathrow airport.

It has not been decided whether the journalist, from a local Czech newspaper, will face criminal charges, he added.

“He wanted to test security procedures,” Pittner said, adding that the journalist climbed over a fence and strayed onto off-limit parts of the airport.

At no time did the journalist endanger passengers or disrupt flights, he said. — AFP
