Springbok scrumhalf Neil de Kock has joined Saracens from South African side Western Province, the English Premiership club announced on Wednesday.
Saracens’ director of rugby Alan Gaffney says the 28-year-old, capped 10 times for his country, was someone they had been tracking for some time.
”He’s a very talented ball player and he’s probably been unlucky not to have won more caps with South Africa in recent seasons. He’s got a very good pass, is good from the base of the scrum and plays with a lot of direction,” Gaffney told Saracen’s official website.
”We’re delighted to have him as part of the squad and along with Alan Dickens and Moses Rauluni, who have both performed well in recent weeks, we will have strength in depth in the scrumhalf position.”
The 28-year-old, who made his international debut against Italy in 2001, is due to link up with his new club next week. — AFP
