Award for SA Breweries boss

Tony van Kralingen, managing director SAB Limited SA, has won the Sunday Times Business Times marketing excellence awards chairman’s award, it was announced at midnight on Thursday.

Van Kralingen won the award as ”a first rate marketing professional who now is the executive head of a major quoted company”, according to a statement.

It added that SAB Limited SA distinctly recognised the value and importance of the King 2 Report on Corporate Governance for SA and the triple bottom line, which considered economic, environmental and social scores in measuring a company’s success.

Van Kralingen was in charge of the company’s local operations, having successfully run the group’s operations in the Czech republic. He had a background in marketing and human resources and presided over the affairs of SAB at executive level, playing a seminal role in the board room, the statement read.

The awards recognised marketing innovation and excellence in individuals, teams or companies. – Sapa
