Embattled Baloyi resigns from Metrofile, Set Point

Embattled businesswoman Dr Danisa Baloyi has resigned as a director of both Metrofile Holdings and Set Point Technology Holdings with immediate effect, it was announced on Tuesday.

Baloyi was recently embroiled in a war of words with Absa over her removal as a non-executive director of the banking group in relation to public disclosures regarding her involvement with the Fidentia matter.

Baloyi was a director and trustee of Fidentia, whose boss, J Arthur Brown, and the company’s financial director, Graham Maddock, are facing theft and fraud charges relating to more than R200-million in funds belonging to the Transport, Education and Training Authority.

On Friday, the Don Group said that, with the information available at this stage, it had decided to keep Baloyi on as a director of the hotel group.

Both Metrofile and Set Point expressed their appreciation to Baloyi for her services as a director of the companies over many years. — I-Net Bridge
