McBride top of the class

Robert McBride, head of the Ekurhuleni metro police department, will receive his BTech degree in policing at the Tshwane University of Technology’s (TUT) graduation ceremony on Friday as the best performer during the course.

TUT spokesperson Willa de Ruyter said on Thursday that McBride and Johannesburg station Commissioner Simon Mpembe will be among 30 graduates of the Faculty of Humanities who will receive their BTech degrees in Policing.

”McBride will also be honoured as the best performer during the course.”

Four other students will receive the MTech in policing and 48 students will receive the national diploma in policing.

TUT’s annual graduation ceremonies started on Wednesday and were scheduled to end on May 10 with 920 qualifications being awarded. — Sapa
