Soap-opera actor missing

Luthuli Dlamini, who has played the character of Stan Nyati in e.tv’s soap opera Scandal, is feared missing.

His agent, who would not divulge his full name, on Monday confirmed that the actor was missing and that he had not heard from him. “I left messages on his phone this morning and at the moment I haven’t heard anything,” he said.

Dlamini had last shown up for work on June 4.

Sunday World newspaper reported that the actor had been missing for two weeks. He had also been replaced with veteran actor Sello Maake ka Ncube, the report said, although Beeld on Monday reported that e.tv’s head of publicity, Vasili Vass, had denied Maake ka Ncube’s involvement.

It is not known whether Dlamini is still in the country or whether he might have gone back home to Zimbabwe.

Vass was quoted as saying he was extremely concerned about Dlamini’s disappearance, but could not confirm whether the actor would keep his job.
