Wits, Arrows play to 1-1 draw

Wits University played to a 1-1 draw against Golden Arrows in a Premier Soccer League match played at Bidvest Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

There was no score at half-time.

Wits failed to maintain their winning momentum after thrashing Bloemfontein Celtic 2-0 last week at the same venue.

Both teams played an entertaining football in the first half but failed to convert the chances created.
Wits’ Noah Chivuta put the home side in the lead in the 65th minute after converting a penalty. It was awarded after Thanduyise Khuboni brought down Tipa Bienvenu inside the penalty area.

Wits’ celebration was short lived when Vusumuzi Dhlamini scored the equaliser in the 72nd minute after the ball rebounded off goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs.—Sapa
