The newly elected leadership of the African National Congress (ANC) should not undermine South Africa’s economic credibility for petty party political reasons, the Democratic Alliance (DA) said on Monday.
This would be to the detriment of all South Africans, poor and rich, the DA’s deputy finance spokesperson, Kobus Marais, said in a statement issued as the ANC’s national executive committee (NEC) met in Johannesburg.
He said that for the sake of job creation and economic growth, the NEC would be well advised to take a careful and considered approach when reviewing macroeconomic policy.
”The ANC must focus its attention on what is needed to maintain our country’s global economic foothold,” he said. — Sapa
