No movement on the log for Swallows, TRZ

Moroka Swallows and Thanda Royal Zulu (TRZ) remained in the positions they occupied before their 0-0 draw in an entertaining Premier Soccer League match at the Olen Park Stadium in Potchefstroom on Sunday.

Swallows are in seventh place with 32 points and TRZ are seven places behind with 21.

The match was stopped in the 23rd minute due to a heavy downpour and resumed nearly an hour later. Both sides were not put off by the lengthy break and produced some good scoring chances, but could not find the back of the net.

The Birds were denied by TRZ’s in-form keeper, Nimrod Tsengwa, who stopped Sandile Ndlovu, Bevan Fransman and Alton Meiring from scoring. Swallows midfielder Mark Haskins did beat him with a superb shot from outside the big box, but it rocketed off the upright.

The visitors hardly troubled Swallows number one Greg Etafia as Fransman marshalled his backline with aplomb and they resorted to long-range efforts, which the Nigerian easily caught. — Sapa
