To mark World Storytelling Day the Johannesburg Storytelling Circle will be holding a storytelling session on Thursday March 19.
World Storytelling Day is a celebration of the art of oral storytelling and is held on the first day of the autumn equinox in the southern hemisphere.
The aim is for as many people as possible to tell and listen to stories in as many languages and at as many places as possible during the same day and night.
Participants tell each other about their events in order to share stories and inspiration, to learn from each other and create international contacts.
The Johannesburg Storytelling Circle will be presenting five stories, each lasting for about 10 minutes and a puppet show which will run for 20 minutes.
The stories are suitable for pre- and primary school children and parents are encouraged to bring their young ones along to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of storytelling.
The event is being held at the Boekehuis in Johannesburg. If you wish to attend please call 011 482 3609 to RSVP and for further details.
