Career expo heads for Soweto

Learners around Soweto and surrounding areas within Johannesburg will benefit from the annual career Expo that will take place from 29-30 April this year at Orlando Community Centre. Careers Inc. is hosting the event.

Themed “Lets get cracking” the purpose of the event is to empower learners with valuable information about various fields of study that they can pursue. Career guidance has been lacking in most schools in these areas resulting in a majority of learners making poor or uninformed career choices.

At the Expo learners would be exposed to a wide range of fields like, among others, information technology, construction, engineering, mining to banking and financial services sector. Attendance is free of charge and organizers believe the initiative would help contribute to the country’s human capital development.

The Expo enjoys support from an array of organizations like City of Johannesburg, Gauteng education department, African Youth Expo, South West Gauteng Colleges.

The organizers have roped in Systems Applications Products (SAP), a global IT Solutions Company, as a strategic partner. The company has vast experience, which spans 25 different industries.
