Producer Michael Lee has entered the fourth week of his hunger protest against the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), the South African Screen Federation said on Monday.
Lee was demanding that the SABC revoke its proposal to cut local content by R500-million next year.
The federation said Lee had lost 11kg, and that at 22 days he had pushed his protest further than Mahatma Gandhi’s longest hunger strike.
The federation said several other people were now joining the hunger protest, including Ingi Brough, former drummer of all-girl band Clout and now a marketing consultant. — Sapa
