Jabu Moleketi has been appointed to the board of Vodacom, the cellphone group said on Tuesday.
The appointment would be effective on November 1, the company said in a statement.
Moleketi is the former deputy minister of finance and former chairperson of the Public Investment Corporation.
He is currently the chairperson of Brait SA, a non-executive director of Nedbank and a member of the local organising committee of the 2010 World Cup.
”Moleketi has a post-graduate diploma in economic principles, a master’s science degree in financial economics [London University] and has completed an advanced management programme at Harvard Business School,” Vodacom said.
Peter Moyo, chairperson of Vodacom Group, said he welcomed the nomination and was looking forward to Moleketi’s contribution on the board. — Sapa
