Rustenburg: nightlife

Rustenburg: Nightlife

Nightlife in Rustenburg is limited, although there are a few decent bars, according to The Rough Guide to South Africa.

The liveliest but dodgiest places for a drink are the bars close to the bus station; less exciting but safer are the following.

Café Voices
The liveliest nocturnal venue, with a sports/cocktail bar, dance floor, sporadic beer festivals and bands.

  • Address: Beyers Naudè Dr.

Castle Corner
Posh English-style pub with lots of beer on tap and satellite sports, that gets busy whenever there’s rugby on the TV.

  • Address: Heystek St.

Palm Lodge
The first-floor ladies bar is popular for televised sports, especially rugby.

  • Address: 99 Beyers Naudè Dr.

Travellers Inn
This small and cosy nook is the closest Rustenburg gets to a backpackers bar. Mon- Sat to at least 9.30pm.

  • Address: 99 Leyds St.

Silhouette Nightclub
If it’s dancing you’re after your best bet is the nearby casino and hotel, Sun City, which has an upmarket club providing evening entertainment. Silhouette operates on Friday and Saturday nights only from 11.00pm until close.
