South Africa’s retail sales growth quickened by 7,9% year-on-year in July at constant prices compared with an upwardly revised 7,6% increase in June, Statistics South Africa said on Wednesday.
Statistics South Africa said retail sales grew by 6,5% in the three months to July, compared with the same period a year ago, also at constant prices.
Economists polled by Reuters last week forecast sales growth would brake to 6,9% year-on-year in July. — Reuters
