South Africa’s targeted consumer inflation slowed more than expected to 3,2% year-on-year in September from 3,5% in August, official data showed on Wednesday.
Statistics South Africa said headline CPI was at 0,1% on a monthly basis, the same rate of increase as August.
Economists polled by Reuters last week forecast CPI would slow to 3,4% year-on-year and tick up to 0,2% month-on-month in September. – Reuters
