The Top Companies Reputation Index (TRCI) measures 27 attributes across eight dimensions, all of which are combined to form the final rating.
Respondents familiar with specific companies were asked to rate those companies, assigning a score from 0 to 10, based on their perception of the following:
- The company’s ability to stand behind its products and services
- The company’s ability to develop innovative products and services
- The company’s ability to offer high quality products and services
- The company’s ability to offer products and services that are good value for money
- The company has excellent leadership
- The company has a clear vision for its future
- The company recognises and takes advantage of market opportunities
- The company looks like a good company to work for
- The company looks like a company that would have good employees
- The company promotes skills development among its staff
- The company maintains high standards in the way it treats people
- The company recognises the importance of redressing the imbalances of the past
- The company is compliant with BBBEE requirements of the country
- The company has a strong record of profitability
- The company is or would be a good investment
- The company looks like it has strong prospects for future growth
- The company tends to out-perform its competitors
- The company communicates regularly to its stakeholders and customers
- Communication by the company to its external stakeholders is simple and clear
- The company treats the views of its stakeholders as if they were very important
- What the company’s management aims to achieve is clearly communicated
- Those running the company have the power to make the necessary decisions
- Performance is verified against expectations from the company’s management
- The company supports good causes
- The company is environmentally responsible
- The company creates jobs for the local communities where it operates
- The company participates in rural development programmes or other nation building initiatives.
