South Africa’s new vehicle sales rose by 8% year-on-year in April to 38 566 units, the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers (Naamsa) said on Wednesday.
When sales from Associated Motor Holdings and Amalgamated Automobile Distributors — which report separately — are stripped out, sales increased by 11,7% to 33 964 vehicles compared with April last year, Naamsa said.
Naamsa said the number of cars sold was affected by the high number of public holidays in April. — Reuters
