Oscar Pistorius was back in court this week, albeit for a paltry 17 minutes. And even though the case is not expected to go to trial until 2014, it was enough to ignite a media frenzy.
With Sky News leaking photos of the bloody bathroom where Reeva Steenkamp was shot and magistrate Daniel Thulare declaring that there appears to be “somewhat of a trial by the media”, questions have been raised about the media’s role in the case.

Join us live as we speak to Mail & Guardian associate editor Phillip De Wet and news reporter Sarah Evans to hear more on the Pistorius case, and whether the media have crossed any legal or ethical boundaries in reporting on it.
