M&G Newsroom: Did M&G make the correct Nkandla call?

M&g Newsroom: Did M&g Make The Correct Nkandla Call?

Listen live here.

On the M&G Newsroom between 1pm and 2pm this week, Kwanele Sosibo and Sarah Evans chat to Mail & Guardian editor-in-chief Chris Roper about the leaking of public protector Thuli Madonsela's provisional report into spending at President Jacob Zuma's home in Nkandla. Speculation over the weekend suggested the possibility of moves to impeach the president, although government and the ANC have remained mum on the leaks.

They will also ask Roper if the M&G was wrong to reveal the details of the report.

Czech fugitive, Radovan Krejcir, has appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrates' Court for a bail hearing. After initially being barred from court, the media was allowed in on Monday, but it remains unclear whether Krejcir will leave the court a free man this week.

After years of opposition from civil society, e-tolling will finally go live in Gauteng on Monday night. Opposition party, Freedom Front Plus, has applied for an urgent interdict in the high court in Pretoria in a last-minute attempt to stop the controversial user-pays system. M&G reporter Phillip de Wet will explain the likelihood of the opposition party succeeding and what this means for road users.

They will then talk to the M&G political team about the increasing tension within labour federation Cosatu over talks that the National Union of Metal Workers of South Africa could secede from the umbrella body.
