The price of all grades of petrol will increase by 39 cents, and all grades of diesel by 24.2 cents a litre on Wednesday, the energy department said.
The price of illuminating paraffin would increase by between 12 and 16c/l, while the maximum retail price of LP gas would go up by 54c/l, the department said in a statement on Friday.
The increase was due to a slight rise in international petrol product prices. "The average rand/US dollar exchange rate weakened when compared to the previous period," the department said.
The average rand/US dollar exchange rate for the period December 27 2013 to January 30 2014 was 10.8 compared to 10.3 during the previous period.
