Facebook and Instagram went down and the world almost ended

Social media websites Facebook and Instagram appeared to be down in the early hours

of Tuesday morning, with Facebook’s site saying it is working on fixing the
issue.

According to reports, the outage affected many countries, such as the United States, Asia and Australia. South Africa was also affected. It’s not clear what caused the blackout.

While Facebook and Instagram were down, social media users took to rival social media site, Twitter, to express their frustration.
