Middle-distance runner Caster Semenya began her campaign for a second Olympics medal in the women’s 800m with a comfortable finish and congratulatory tweets streamed in shortly thereafter.

Semenya has advanced to the semi-finals of the women’s 800m after winning heat 2 with a time of 1:59.31.
