Don of Alex: Paul Mashatile has bided his time to have a shot at the president’s job.
ANC treasurer general Paul Mashatile addressed investors at the annual Africa Mining Indaba in Cape Town on Tuesday, just hours before President Jacob Zuma and ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa met to discuss the position as head of state.

Speaking to investors, Mashatile confirms that Zuma refused to resign when the ANC’s top six leaders met with him earlier this week. Mashatile also says a decision was taken to recall Zuma if he refuses to step down.
