On 21 June, Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi released the Medical Schemes Amendment Bill for public comment. The draft legislation proposes, among other changes, to allow the minister to restrict medical aid benefits to prevent duplication with those offered by the National Health Insurance Fund. The Bill also proposes caps for medical aid contributions.
