Professor Lee Berger introduces us to Homo naledi, a new species and ancient human ancestor, discovered in South Africa’s Cradle of Humankind in 2013.
The find was announced by the University of Witswatersrand, the National Geographic Society and the South African National Research Foundation and published in the journal eLife. All images are from the October issue of National Geographic, credited to Wits University.
